FC Barcelona Ready for First Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
