Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
